This simple but profound question guides Boris Bidjan Saberi to create connections of all kinds, from hiring new members for his creative team to forming collaborations with other brands. Saberi seeks out experts in their niche who can complement his own talents. When it came to developing a specialist light trail running shoe for hiking performance, there was a clear and outstanding answer: Salomon. As an enthusiast of outdoor sports, Saberi was already a fan and a user of Salomon’s products. He identified them as leaders in their field and knew they could contribute the high-tech industrial manufacturing expertise to bring his ideas to life. Salomon had never previously partnered with an external designer but recognized the opportunity to create something unique — a one-of-a-kind technical product with a conceptual vision. This inspired series of performance sneakers fuses mountainwear high performance and streetwear style. As with all footwear from the brand, the sneakers are formed on a last — an anatomical mold — of Saberi’s own foot. From this unique connection with the designer, the shoes are stretched and formed for an unmistakable fit and feel.
